I’m a GP and certified obesity physician with degrees in both medicine and nutrition, including the internationally recognised SCOPE certification. Since graduating from Barts Medical School in 1995, I’ve focused on lifestyle and obesity medicine, completing a postgraduate degree in nutrition and registering as an Associate Nutritionist (ANutr).
I now specialise in obesity care across both NHS and private settings, having trained with global leaders through the World Obesity Federation and at the Cleveland Clinic. I’m also a published author, conference speaker, and media contributor, and I regularly train healthcare professionals in weight management. Following a plant-based diet myself, I understand the real-life challenges of weight loss—many of the tools I share were first developed through my own journey.
Mounjaro works by boosting two gut hormones, GLP-1 and GIP, which help you feel fuller for longer, slow digestion, and reduce cravings by sending signals to your brain. Many people find it quiets the constant mental chatter about food—what some call “food noise.”
As one patient put it, “My food noise wasn’t a noise, it was a food rave. And now it’s a whisper.” It may not disappear entirely, but it becomes far more manageable.

Wegovy works by increasing levels of a hormone called GLP-1, which helps you feel fuller for longer, slows digestion, and reduces cravings by signaling to your brain that you’ve had enough to eat.
It’s known for quieting the constant “food noise” that many people struggle with. As with Mounjaro, this doesn’t mean all cravings vanish, but they usually become much easier to manage or ignore.

Mysimba is a weight loss medication that works on the brain rather than the gut, reducing appetite and food cravings by affecting the brain's reward system. It combines two medicines—naltrexone and bupropion—that help take the emotional edge off eating and reduce the urge to snack or comfort eat.
Many people find it helps them regain control around food, especially in situations where habits or emotions usually take over. It doesn’t remove hunger completely but can make it easier to make healthier choices.
